OUR HISTORY
SJB was established by founders with a combination of Search and IT industry backgrounds and a common vision – to provide an Executive Search service genuinely expert in its market and exemplary in its delivery. That market comprised the emerging IT outsourcing and rapidly evolving System Integration sectors. Since 2003 we have continually developed our service based on core values of respectful qualification and attention to detail in matching senior talent to organisations and their opportunities. Our clients are the major SITS, BPS and Management Consultancies who we assist with business-critical hires to Board level. Whether for succession situations or unplanned demand, our unique blend of headhunting expertise and industry background has built a peerless reputation for delivery.
The company is unique amongst traditional search firms having developed a Managed Business Senior Hire service to offer its corporate and enterprise clients; essentially a flexible highly governed business service, SJB established its first Critical Hire Outsource (CHO™) offering in 2007, which we still retain in operation to date. The launch customer ATOS, is still benefiting from the service today and SJB helps many other similar clients with tailored versions of CHO that work seamlessly with in-house or hybrid recruitment models.
With such focus and continual profitable growth in its chosen markets, SJB came to the attention of ManpowerGroup in early 2013 whilst on an acquisition strategy to build out its own professional permanent recruitment brands. Spotting a natural complement in the ManpowerGroup portfolio, The SJB Group was acquired by ManpowerGroup in December 2013. The SJB Group now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary within the Experis professional brand, with SJB retaining its highly successful management team. The original founders still oversee the business and are today instrumental alongside the ManpowerGroup UK Board in the next exciting phase of extending the SJB portfolio and growth internationally leveraging the reach and presence of the ManpowerGroup brand globally.

HOW WE WORK
In common with our clients SJB has a robust and highly governed methodology underpinning each and every scope of work that we undertake. It is based on a structured ‘top down’ approach and working closely with all stakeholders from the outset.
We will invest time at the start of the assignment to really understand all aspects of the job, the hiring context and organisation. We will capture and produce the formal specification and agree the brief to be given to candidates. Jointly we will plan process activity and the timeline, taking into account any sensitivities, constraints and preferences.
Rigorous selection
From our active network and active research, we identify potential candidates and start the selection process. Our qualification method is thorough, based on our unique industry insight and competency-based interview, always meeting face-to-face with candidates selected for shortlist. The shortlist is presented along with a comprehensive selection report and we will make recommendations prior to your interview process.
Communications and reporting
We treat our assignments as projects and monitor progress to plan as a matter of course. We will be in dialogue and keep you updated with regular situation reports. Our consultant dedicated to the task in hand will always be readily available to deal with any issues as they arise.
Candidate management and on-boarding
SJB prides itself on exemplary candidate management through the life of the senior hire process. Not limited to expedient feedback, query resolution and offer broking we will support the critical phase of on-boarding. This is an essential step applicable to any grade that is a key success factor in protecting the investment of senior hire.
Performance review
The last stage, performance review, lets you assess the value that we bring and discuss openly any comments, which is vital to an enduring relationship. We take your satisfaction very seriously and will act quickly in continually improving our service.
